The Atlas Ensemble presents an intercultural musical celebration as composers and musicians from the Far East, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe play traditional music from all corners of the world on their extraordinary instruments. The programme features various premieres and unique collaborations as top musicians revive ancient music cultures and/or play exciting modern crossover music.

The evening concerts on Saturday 6 September and Sunday 7 September focus on the winning works of the first Atlas Ensemble Composition Competition. In addition, the programme features new works by Klaas de Vries (NL) and James Clarke (UK), funded by the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung.

The festival presents a plethora of music styles as well as Persian poetry, exquisite food from various Asian cuisines, tai chi, a sushi workshop, musical speed dates, and children’s activities.
